Web dev at the end of the world, from Hveragerði, Iceland

Photos (8 October 2024)

A few starlings stopped by the bird feeder on my balcony earlier this week. (Shot through the window pane so as to not startle them. Hence the reflections.)

Five starlings hang out on a wet wooden balcony railing after lunching. A single starling perches on that railing. Somehow, it looks grumpy.

A few of very autumnal photos from yesterday’s walk

A path cuts through yellowed grass leading to a cluster of trees that have already dropped their leaves A small evergreen tree is growing out of the edge of a cliff A view over Hveragerði from a hilltop. Large trees dot the landscape between low, single or two-storey, houses. In the distance you can see the town’s one large ad screen that’s currently bright yellow

Took these two pictures of the same scene and with a similar angle, but converted one to B&W and the kept the other in colour.

A colour picture of the same cluster of trees except now they are surrounded by yellowing grass and the picture is fringed with bright evergreen trees A black and white image taken from a high angle above. At the centre there are a few trees that have dropped their leaves which, in black and white, makes them look like sharp dark lines.

A couple of new photos of the resident Mouser Queen.

A semi-long-haired grey and white cat. She is loafing on a fence. That same grey and white cat sitting on a yellowing lawn, looking up at the photographer.
