In this week’s photo set:

Starlings congregate on my balcony railing

A solo starling stares at the photographer

Two starlings relax on the balcony railing. One is fluffing up masterfully.

A starling looks down at the balcony. Reflected in the glass is a glimpse of my other window.

An Icelandic farmhouse near Hveragerði. Steam rises up from the mountainside behind it. Horses graze in the grass.

A football field. Behind it steam rises from geothermal wells.

A footpath. On one side, trees and a cliff. On the other a chain link fence.

The other view of the same path. In the distance we see a well belching up steam.

These next three photos were taken near the excellent Þjóðveldisbær Stöng.

A waterfall falling down a cliff in the distance. Flowers in the foreground.

A row of viking axes hang on a plank. On the plank there is a sign that says: '#VisitVikings, Please share your photos with us.' I did not.

Another wider photograph of the waterfall. Emphasising just how much green surrounds it.

I took this one during a quick trip to the family cabin (dad’s family).

A view from the family cabin. Mossy grass and shrubbery cover the landscape. There is a tree and a mountain.

This cat is one of my neighbours and is probably the friendliest of the local cats.

The friendly neighbourhood cat stares up at the photographer while loafing on a fence.

The friendly neighbourhood black and white cat doesn't mind the wet pavement.

And, finally, my sister sent me a few photos of Kolka, her black cat that she got as a semi-feral rescue almost a couple of years ago now.

Kolka. A black cat. Blepping masterfully.

Kolka giving a dignified look for the camera.

Kolka, ready for her close up, staring up at the photographer.

Kolka, in another portait, looking thoughtful.
